Tales, folklore and stories are fundamental to many cultures throughout the world. History, genealogy and customs have been passed down through the mediums of tales, folklore and stories. Mushrooms is a story about some of the many types of mushrooms that exist. Tree ear, star, saddle and many other mushrooms join in to elect a president. The story goes on to survey some of the types of mushrooms. The Mushroom story can be used as an educational lesson plan with the following possibilities. 1. Draw, paint, take pictures, find pictures of mushrooms. 2. Find what type of mushrooms grow in your area. 3. Find recipes on cooking mushrooms. 4. Find out which mushrooms are used for medicine. 5. Which areas produce the most mushrooms used for food. 6. Find any references to mushrooms in other stories. 7. Making mushroom identification charts.
